Cape ganglands | Community under siege by gangs fighting over drug turf

CAPE TOWN - Two council flats in Hanover Park, Cape Town have come under attack from rival gangs fighting over drug territory.

Residents of Oribi Court and Moray Court say they live in fear following stone-throwing and window-smashing by gangs at night.

The local community policing forum is appealing to the families of those responsible to speak out, to ensure arrests are made.

Provincial police say a case of malicious damage to property was reported to the Philippi police station, but no arrests have been made yet.

Investigations are ongoing.
