Can City of Tshwane improve its financial status?

PRETORIA - The Gauteng government has raised a red flag about the R24-billion that's owed to the City of Tshwane.

According to Gauteng Finance MEC Lebogang Maile, 70-percent of debtors are households, with the rest commercial businesses.

Tshwane mayor, Nasiphi Moya says some projects might be stalled by the underfunded budget.

The mayor says the city will be working to ensure the auditor-general’s recommendations are followed, and that the municipality is able to surpass the debt threshold.
