JOHANNESBURG - The DA's Tania Campbell is back as Ekurhuleni mayor, just two weeks after being booted out of office through a no-confidence motion.
The EFF and other parties in the multi-party government voted with the DA to elect Campbell, defeating ANC's Jongizizwe Dlabathi by 124 votes to 99.
EFF's Nkululeko Dunga withdrew from the mayoral race.
Campbell says the two-week leadership vacuum disrupted service delivery and that the multi-party government will hit the ground running.
"Plans will carry on with service delivery," she said.
