"Our info when we engage with the driver, apparently there’s two vehicles involved. The truck in front suddenly stopped and the bus driver couldn’t apply brakes in time and children were affected. Rescue teams attended this. Members of the public assisted in getting them out of bus. We managed to record 19 children who have now been hospitalised with minor injuries. No serious or critical injuries and not fatalities so far," said William Ntladi, Ekurhuleni Emergency Services.

On Tuesday, at least 13 people died in a collision on the R21 northbound near OR Tambo International Airport Interchange.

The crash happened between a bus and a Light Motor Vehicle resulting in the bus driver losing control and the bus overturning.
