Bleak future for students stuck in Russia

JOHANNESBURG -  During this festive season, spare a thought for the South African students stranded in Russia due to unpaid bills.

It has been an anxious Christmas for over 200 students from Mpumalanga who are studying in that country.

The provincial government has failed to pay the student's tuition, accommodation, and visa extension fees.

Hayley Reichert, a spokesperson for the students, says Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande must intervene.
