JOHANNESBURG - A fire has raged out through Zolweni Informal Settlement in Dunoon, near Milnerton.
Firefighters are on site, battling the blaze as strong winds are exacerbating its spread.
For the past 48 hours, teams from Gift of the Givers have been working hard to help individuals affected by the fire.
The NGO’s Western Cape project manager, Ali Sablay, says teams have also been dispatched two to two other sites in Paarl and Mfuleni.
November to May is Cape fire season. Last year, thousands of residents were displaced by a blaze that gutted nearly 300 shacks at the Ethembeni Informal Settlement, also in Dunoon.
