Blackouts move to Stage 3 on Monday

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom says blackouts will be reduced to Stage 3 from 5am on Monday morning.

That will last until Tuesday morning at 5am when it will be reduced to Stage 2.

South Africa's Stage 2 status is indefinite from Tuesday.

The shortages are being blamed on a number of breakdowns at power stations countrywide.

Some units are being repaired and there's been a delay in returning some to service.
