BOKSBURG - The 10th South African Democratic Teachers Union Congress is underway in Boksburg.
The four-day gathering is expected to elect new leadership but also discuss pressing issues in education.
The recently signed BELA Act and the threat of job cuts have come under the spotlight.
Basic Education Deputy Minister Reginah Mhaule wants the teacher's union to fight hard for the implementation of the BELA Act.<
Mhaule was addressing the union's congress, and accused those opposed to the act, as anti-transformation in the education sector.
