JOHANNESBURG - Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Sihle Zikalala says law enforcement officials are doing their best to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country through the Beitbridge border.
There have been concerns about the state of the multi-million rand fence.
Zikalala says they are working on a solution to strengthen security.
"We are grateful to the Department of Defence and Home Affairs under the Border Management Authority," the minister said.
"SANDF is patrolling throughout that border line. But also the management of the border itself.
"The facilities there are in place to ensure people are handled and processed as when they come."
