Another Joburg building catches fire

JOHANNESBURG - The city of Johannesburg continues to battle with fires engulfing buildings.

On Saturday, emergency services had to put out a blaze that engulfed two rooms in a block of flats in Hillbrow.

The building is on on the corner of Van Der Merwe and Klein streets, opposite Hillbrow Police Station.

City officials say no injuries were reported, and firefighters were able to contain and put out the fire before it could spread.

This fire comes after a South African Revenue Service building in Marshalltown caught fire.

Late last month, a massive blaze ripped through an illegally occupied building in the city centre, taking 77 lives.
