Andile Lungisa appeal case dismissed

JOHANNESBURG - The High Court in the Eastern Cape has dismissed the urgent interim relief by former Nelson Mandela Bay councillor Andile Lungisa.

The application was dismissed with costs.

The African National Congress in the Eastern Cape decided to suspend Lungisa for a period of 18 months.

He was charged with breaking the ANC constitution and appeared before the party's provincial disciplinary committee.

The accusations are related to his criminal history which was established six years ago when he hit an opposition party member in the head with a glass jug.
