ANC wants deployees to stay connected to the people

JOHANNESBURG - The media often complains about a lack of access to political leaders, the President and government ministers.

The issue was even taken up by the South African National Editors' Forum.

Now, the ANC is promising its deployees will be available to the media.

"Luthuli House is hard at work to ensure there is no accounting deficit on the part of any public deployee," said spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri.

"The need [is] for all our public deployees to stay connected to the people of South Africa by providing constant update about the work that government is doing."
