JOHANNESBURG - The African National Congress Veterans have just concluded a three-day lekgotla in Johannesburg.
The veterans reaffirmed their role in the ANC and say they want to reconnect with the masses of South Africa.
"The lekgotla participants recommitted that veterans' role envisioned by the veterans league constitution is to advise and guide the movement, particularly on the issues relating to integrity, ethics, and values," said ANC veteran Snuki Zikalala.
Meanwhile, the Military Veterans Department says it is ready to pay pensions.
The regulations around payments came into effect in December.
