JOHANNESBURG - Al Jamah-ah party leader, Ganief Hendricks says the City of Johannesburg's new mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda was thoroughly vetted.
Gwamanda has been accused of running a fraud scam.
The DA has given him 48 hours to address the allegations.
It is alleged he used his iThemba Lama Afrika company to steal money from people.
His party says there is no need to respond to the allegations.
The DA's Mpho Phalatse says he should speak up as it's a matter of public interest.
