AFU, SIU granted order to freeze land worth R53m

JOHANNESBURG - The Asset Forfeiture Unit and the Special Investigating Unit have been granted a preservation order to freeze a farm and an agricultural holding in Gauteng worth about R53-million.

It's linked to a fraudulent transfer of government land to private entities and individuals.

A similar order was granted last September, with a value of about R144-million.

The fraud is believed to have been committed between 2008 and 2022.
