PRETORIA - Lawyers for the Education Department and the Information Regulator thrashed out arguments about the publication of matric results on Tuesday.
The Regulator insisted that publishing the results in newspapers violates the Protection of Personal Information Act or POPIA.
This dispite names of pupils are no longer published, but their student numbers are.
The Department of Basic Education is opposing the Regulator’s interdict application.
