JOHANNESBURG - Newly appointed ActionSA Gauteng Chairperson Funzi Ngobeni, says the country doesn't need another shutdown.

The EFF-led shutdown is set to take place on Monday, through various marches countrywide, calling for an end to power cuts, unemployment and for President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign.

Ngobeni says it's not the right time to protest with the economy already in the doldrums.

He said, "we're rolling up our sleeves and building the structures, focusing on the work of building our structures, going for elections. I think there is no time to waste. We need to make sure we provide an alternate government."
