JOHANNESBURG - A total of 34 of the 50 foreign nations who escaped from a Lombardy East house are in police custody.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says the ages of the people in custody range between 13 and 24.
Investigations are underway, and they will confirm whether this is a human trafficking case.
A neighbour alleges they heard noises on Wednesday morning and was alarmed by the commotion outside.
When they looked, they saw scores of foreign nationals running down the street, some naked and others carrying bread.
The resident has called on police to act swiftly in finding the owner of the house wherein the scores were allegedly held hostage.
