JOHANNESBURG - The outcry over the DA's controversial 'flag burning' election ad has dealt the party another blow.
The SABC has decided to ban the commercial.
Unsurprisingly, DA leader John Steenhuisen has criticised the move.
He says the public broadcaster is infringing its political right to campaign.

"It was an advert designed to be a gut punch, to be controversial, to get people talking and it succeeded in that," Steenhuisen said.
"Unfortunately, now the SABC has written to us saying that they are banning the advert.
I think it’s a terrible indictment on freedom of political speech and what is telling people about their government, so we are going to fight this now all the way to the Constitutional Court.”
