ANC faces threat to its majority
JOHANNESBURG - For the first time in 30 years, the ANC faces a real threat to its parliamentary majority, having steadily lost support in past elections.
Former president Thabo Mbeki launched a scathing attack on the current state of the party in its leadership, at his annual UNISA lecture.
He accused the ANC of endorsing criminality by letting party members in government positions, to loot the country’s resources and coffers.
But now Mbeki is campaigning for the governing party ahead of the 29 May elections.
On Thursday, he was on the campaign trail in Soweto.
