JOHANNESBURG - While the youth turned out in their numbers to register to vote this past weekend, there's still a huge gap to be filled in terms of their participation.
The IEC says it's concerning that only 44 percent of eligible youth are on the voters' roll.

The other thorn in the side of the registration weekend was disruptions and protests at various voting stations.
The IEC says it will soon announce the second registration weekend which it hopes will help achieve its target of 27 million registered voters.
