2024 Elections | IEC worried court challenges will affect preparations

JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission is worried it won’t have enough time to prepare for the upcoming 2024 elections due to court challenges around several electoral acts.

Currently, the Electoral Amendment Act and the Political Party Funding Act are being challenged by civil organisations.

Non-profit Organisation, My Vote Counts has filed court papers, as it wants the R100 000 limit before parties need to disclose their funding scrapped.
