2024 elections | IEC will welcome international observers

JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Electoral Commission will welcome international observers for the May 29 elections.

But CEO Sy Mamabolo says this has to be done through appropriate multilateral institutions.

It comes after the Democratic Alliance wrote a letter to G7 nations, the EU and four Nordic countries, requesting assistance in upcoming polls.

In its letter, the DA asks countries to help provide resources for independent domestic observers ahead of the polls.
