2024 elections | IEC steps up campaign to woo youth voters

NAMAKGALE - The Independent Electoral Commission’s mission to entice young people to vote has begun. 

The IEC has launched its programme to educate young people about the importance of making their mark at May’s all-important elections. 

It recently revealed that over 78 percent of first-time voters are young people between the ages of 16 and 29.

The IEC says while many young people have registered, they must be encouraged to take the next step and vote.

The Commission will take its programme to other tertiary institutions countrywide next. SOQ))
