JOHANNESBURG - South Africa will decide on 29 May.
That's the date President Cyril Ramaphosa has set for the national and provincial elections.
In a statement from his office, Ramaphosa called on voters not already registered to do so online.
"Beyond the fulfilment of our constitutional obligation, these upcoming elections are also a celebration of our democratic journey and a determination of the future that we all desire," he said.
Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo said the IEC is ready to deliver free and fair polls.
"The commission will be ready.. Remember, we've been saying that said we want to be ready at the earliest possibility within the constitutional timeframe.
"This date suits us. We think we will be in a position to give the country an election that we can all be proud of."
