Electoral matter amendment bill passed
JOHANNESBURG - Opposition parties are up in arms over the Electoral Matters Amendment Bill, passed on Tuesday by the National Assembly.
The bill was meant to amend the act to accommodate independent candidates for this year's elections, but some parties say it went further by altering political party funding.
They argue the changes favour big parties like the ANC.
Senior researcher at My Vote Counts, Joel Bregman spoke with eNCA about this.
