2024 Elections | Concourt dismisses Zuma's recusal application

Concourt dismisses Zuma's recusal application

JOHANNESBURG - The Constitutional Court on Friday dismissed an application brought by former President Jacob Zuma for some of the Constitutional Court judges to rescuse themselves from hearing his case on whether or not he can contest the upcoming general elections.

Zuma's legal team argued that six judges who were part of the bench that jailed him for contempt in 2021 could be biased towards him.

Deputy Chief Justice Mandisa Maya dismissed the application.

However the court did not provide reasons for the decision immediately.
