CAPE TOWN - Loud cheers and thunderous applause echoed through many school halls in the Western Cape as the class of 2023 celebrated their final matric results.
The province achieved an 81.54 percent pass for the National Senior Certificate exams, a slight increase from the year before.
The Western Cape is the fifth best performing province with pupils collectively obtaining just under 25,000 distinctions.
