EAST LONDON - Eastern Cape education officials are basking in the glory of the achievements of the Matric Class of 2023.
For the first time since the dawn of democracy, the province has achieved a pass rate of over 80 percent.
But some say things will improve if the needs of pupils are met.
Over 100,000 pupils are still subject to pit latrines among other infrastructure problems.
