JOHANNESBURG - Teaching union Naptosa has lauded teachers for their efforts during the 2022 matric exams.
The union's Basil Manuel says teachers sacrificed their time to ensure pupils produced good results.
The class of 2022 recorded an 80.1 percent pass rate up from 76.4 percent the previous year.

"Teachers have spent an enormous amount of time on the learners, they spent additional time and holidays too," says Manuel.
"In the long run it's not going to be sustainable because we are worried about their mental health," he adds.
Manuel says he understands the reasons now and lauds them for their sacrifices.
