2022 Matric Exams | Concerns for pupils affected by floods in KZN

DURBAN - As matric pupils countrywide gear up for their final exams, education unions are demanding that rolling blackouts shouldn't be another stressful thing pupils need to worry about.

KwaZulu-Natal Education MEC, Mbali Frazer, made the comments during a briefing on the province's readiness for the exams.

Pupils in that province have been battling several challenges this year including deadly floods and the lingering effects of last year's unrest.

KZN says it's Aiming for an 80% matric pass rate in the upcoming examinations.

The province has over 198 000 candidates that will sit for the exams.

Education Unions in the province are concerned about the effects rolling blackouts will have on studying.
