JOHANNESBRUG - There has been another fatal dog attack, this time in the Free State town of Hennenman.
Two pitbulls mauled a three-year-old to death Sunday morning, in Sekoti Mpate, Phomolong.
Angry residents killed one of the dogs with garden spades and stones and set it on fire.
Police had to take the owner of the animals to safety.
The incident comes amid growing calls for South Africa to ban pitbulls as pets.
Another 8-year-old was buried this week after being killed by a neighbour's pitbull in Vista Park, Bloemfontein.
