KWAZULU-NATAL - A bus carrying IFP supporters has crashed on the R34, near Lakeside outside Vryheid, in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Nineteen people have been injured, three critically.
No fatalities have been confirmed. All of the injured have been taken to the Vryheid hospital.
Traffic authorities suspect the driver of the bus lost control because he was speeding.
The Sun Coaches bus was transporting IFP supporters from Gauteng to the party's 50th anniversary celebrations in Ulundi.
KZN Traffic spokesperson Collen Govender has told eNCA, the scene is still active as traffic authorities try to clear the road.
