JOHANNESBURG - A 13-year-old boy has died after being hit in the head by a stray bullet in his family home.
The family rushed him to a East Rand hospital shortly after the incident but did not receive adequate medical care.
The boy was simply stitched up and discharged without any further testing and later passed away.
This incident has sparked many questions around medical negligence and what procedures should have been followed to prevent the boys death.
South African Medical Association Chairperson, Dr Mvuyisi Mzukwa discussed this with eNCA.
