DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal COGTA MEC Thulasizwe Buthelezi has instructed embattled municipalities to disconnect services to government departments with unpaid utility bills.
Msunduzi municipality has cut off services to government department buildings, in in its drive to recoup money money owed.
However, residents are up in arms over irregularities in the city's billing system, accusing the municipality of overcharging them for electricity.
