A party statement read:
"Such actions are unacceptable, divisive, denigrating, and offensive. They undermine the principles of unity, respect, and discipline that are fundamental to the values of uMkhonto we Sizwe Party.
"In response, the president of uMkhonto we Sizwe Party, Jacob Zuma has issued the following directives:
- Commander Duduzile Zuma must issue an unconditional public apology to the Secretary General, the President, members, supporters, of uMkhonto we Sizwe, and all the people of South Africa.
- She must also extend formal apologies to all structures she serves and leads in, including the Southern Caucus of the Pan-African Parliament."
Zuma-Sambudla admitted that publicly airing her grievances about MK Party Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu, may have undermined the unity and discipline of the party.
In her statement, she acknowledged that while she holds strong personal views and concerns about internal party matters, these should have been addressed through the proper channels.
Zuma-Sambudla says her words do not reflect the revolutionary values and respect upheld by the MK Party under Zuma’s leadership.
She also expressed her willingness to cooperate with any internal processes necessary, pledging to uphold discipline, respect, and unity within the party.
