Witness suffering memory loss testifies at Enyobeni Tavern inquest

MDANTSANE - The 21 young people who died at Enyobeni Tavern in the Eastern Cape may have been among the hundreds if not thousands that gate crashed a birthday party hosted by DJs.

That's the view of the fifth witness who testified in the inquest looking into who should be held criminally liable for the June 2022 deaths.

Luhlumelo Ulana also told the East London magistrate's court sitting at the Mdantsane Regional Court that he has a history of suffering from memory loss and he might not be the most credible witness.

The inquest continues on Wednesday and is expected to wrap up on 23 August.
