Western Cape dams filled to the brim

CPT dams brimming with more rainfall to come

CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape has gone from counting down to day zero to worrying about dams that are just too full.

Water levels shot up by 20 percent after a week of heavy downpours.

Cape Town's dams are at 100 percent capacity or even higher after the storms.

Theewaterskloof, the largest dam in the province, is full.

With more rains expected, officials may be forced to open sluice gates.

While it's good news for some, citrus and grape farmers are worried about the impact of the rains on the harvest.
