WATCH: MPs react to 2025 budget being passed in Parliament

CAPE TOWN - Political party leaders in parliament have weighed in on the budget.

The national assembly has voted to adopt the budget.

194 MPs voted in favour while 182 voted against.

There were no abstentions.

After failing to get enough support within the government of national unity, the ANC got the budget across the line with the backing of ActionSA, Build One South Africa, the Patriotic Alliance, IFP, UDM and others.

Meanwhile, the future of the government of national unity is under threat, after the ANC was forced to seek support from minor parties to pass the budget.

The Democratic Alliance plans to challenge Parliament's passing of the budget in court.
