JOHANNESBURG - Three wanted suspects have been shot and killed in a shootout with police in Empangeni, north of KwaZulu-Natal.
They were gunned down in the early hours of Friday morning at their hideout in the KwaDlangezwa area.
At least two firearms have been recovered, and the police are still working the crime scene.
Police say the suspects were being hunted in connection with at least ten cases of murder.
They were also linked to an ATM bombing in Esikhaleni on Thursday.
There have been several fatal shootouts between suspects and the police in KwaZulu-Natal in recent weeks.
