Taxi, bus strike leaves scores stranded on KZN South Coast

JOHANNESBURG - Commuters on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast have been left stranded on Monday.

Taxi and bus operators hit the brakes on services in the Ugu region.

X users are reporting there are currently no taxis running.

Monday's public transport freeze stems from Operation Shanela and strict law enforcement.

In May, impounded taxis led to a mass protest in Port Shepstone and Durban.

The operators claimed their vehicles were being impounded while permits were not being issued in time.
