JOHANNESBURG - The clock is ticking for political parties to form a new government.
Negotiations on the modalities of the ANC's proposed Government of National Unity are continuing.
This after the party failed to retain its outright majority during last week's elections.

But, talks have already hit its first speed bump with the EFF rejecting the proposal.
As the impasse persists, the deadline imposed by the Constitution on the National Assembly to elect a president within 14 days after the release of the election results, is fast approaching.
