JOHANNESBURG - About 60 Non-Profit Organisations in Gauteng say they’re still in limbo.
The NPOs are complaining about a lack of funding, which they say has forced them to stop giving food to orphans, children affected by HIV/AIDS and those coming from indigent families.
This comes as the Gauteng Social Development Department vows it will not fund non-compliant NPOs.
The department says it’s committed to working with NPOs and will engage municipalities to resolve the non-compliance impasse.
The City of Johannesburg meanwhile hasn’t responded to a media query at the time of broadcast.
