JOHANNESBURG - Rand Water's five-week extensive maintenance project is underway.
But parts of Joburg are experiencing unplanned outages.
The utility says this is not part of the maintenance and blames them on what it calls 'minor' pipe bursts.

Meanwhile, it's urging residents not to panic as contingencies are in place in case taps run dry.
The maintenance work is expected to be completed on 29 July.
