JOHANNESBURG - Joburg mayor Dada Morero says the water system is strained due to high demand, but insists teams are working urgently to restore supply within the next seven days.
Alternative solutions include the provision of water tankers.
However, many residents in the city say they are yet to see one.

Morero says water outages are affecting around 60 percent of the city.
Some areas have already received water, but many suburbs are still experiencing low pressure or no supply.
