SA’s water crisis | Gauteng residents brace for weeks of maintenance work

JOHANNESBURG - Residents of Gauteng and parts of the North-West are preparing for five weeks of possible water interruptions.

Bulk supplier Rand Water will be carrying out maintenance from this Saturday until the end of July.

While it’s expected that water supply will not be cut-off completely, residents are not taking any chances.

Four Rand Water systems will be affected over the five weeks.

Eikenhof, Zwartkopjes and Palmiet are first in line between 22 and 28 June.

Mapleton then joins Palmiet in July.

Rand Water has asked affected municipalities to keep consumers updated.
