JOHANNESBURG - The Border Management Authority says it can't predict whether the processing of trucks and people at the Lebombo border will be open throughout the festive season.
This as the situation remains volatile in parts of Mozambique.
The Mpumalanga government says they've escalated the issue of safety because of illegal border crossings to national government.
But it's not the only matter giving the province a headache.

Border infrastructure is falling to pieces, and poses no deterrence to migrants or criminals wanting to enter the country illegally.
The matter has been escalated to Public Works to intervene and assist in rehabilitating some of the dilapidated border fences.
