Zwelinzima Vavi calls Kenny Kunene out for comments on X
JOHANNESBURG - The South African Federation of Trade Unions wants Joburg Transport MMC, Kenny Kunene out of public service.
Saftu accuses Kunene of inciting violence against illegal miners and foreign nationals.

The alleged incidents occurred on X where Kunene shared a post depicting slaughtered animals, and saying this is what should be done to illegal miners.
Saftu has now asked the Human Rights Commission to have a closer look at Kunene's conduct.
The federation's general secretary, Zwelinzima Vavi discussed this with eNCA's Thembekile Mrototo.
Vavi said, "He has to understand that is a public official, a very senior one, he is an MMC for Transport in Johannesburg, the number one city historically and economically in our country."
"He cannot afford to speak like he is speaking in a shebeen among his friends."
"Whatever he says, a big number of citizens take it very seriously and that's why we have approached the Human Rights Commission."
"If the Human Rights Commission rules in our favour, and they do accede to the request that we are making, that he be forced to do a public apology then he's going to have to do that."
"In South Africa, unlike elsewhere perhaps, we are not a banana republic we are a constitutional democracy. We're based on setting rules. We're being governed in terms of our conduct by our constitution and the constitution protects all of us, including Mr Kenny Kunene plus anyone who is within the borders of South Africa, whether they are here legally or illegally," Vavi said.
