SA requests urgent measures against Israel

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa has filed another application with the International Criminal Court.

It's seeking an urgent order against Israel's planned assault on Rafah in Gaza.

Rafah is the last viable centre in Gaza for habitation, public administration and basic services, including medical care.

South Africa in its application says Israel has managed to isolate Rafah from basic human rights and the case requires urgent intervention and investigation.

It reiterated that Israel continues to violate the Genocide Convention of the ICJ's orders.

It's calling on the ICJ to order Israel to comply with provisional measures ordered by the court in January and March.
