Robbers blow up CIT van, make off with cash in Mpumalanga

JOHANNESBURG - The Hawks are hunting cash-in-transit robbers who hit a vehicle in Bushbuckridge on Saturday.

They made off with an undisclosed amount of money and a firearm.

About 20 robbers armed with explosives attacked the cash van.

The driver was shot and taken to the nearest hospital.

The Hawks are appealing to the public to refrain from contaminating the crime scene.

It's feared there might be some explosives which were not detonated during the blast.
